Client Spotlight: Film Forties Case Study

The Client

Lights, Camera…

Responsible for hits like Friday Night LightsHell Or High Water, and The LeftoversPeter Berg is an entertainment legend with over eighty producer/director credits. He leads the Emmy award-winning production company Film 45 which creates non-scripted entertainment and branded content for film as well as Film 44 which focuses on producing scripted content that works to accurately portray people and their situations in a way “that moves and sometimes inspires audiences while exploring the world we live in today.”

Utilizing the existing filmmaker and production groundwork from its sister businesses, Berg started Film 47: a commercial and branded entertainment company that supports working with advertising across advertising. Through Film 47, Berg has focused on producing big time commercial spots for the Superbowl. A couple of our favorites are below!

Film Forties will support Berg’s scripted shingle Film 44 (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, The Leftovers) and non-scripted production company Film 45 (The Keepers, QB1). Vic Palumbo, a production veteran from Fallon, Wieden+Kennedy and Deutsch, serves as president.

The oft-awarded Palumbo (40+ Cannes Lions and 7 Emmy nominations, most notably for “Mini Darth” and Nike’s “Move”) and his team helps brands and agencies work more closely with writers, directors and actors, to accelerate the creative process.

In addition to Verizon and the NFL, Film 47 counts Papa John’s and startup Rivian as clients.

Action!

Cue Hope Creative. Film Forties needed a branding agency to fine tune their website; through our team’s agency connections we connected with Vic Palumbo, President at Film Forties, and the rest is history. Having a small production unit ourselves, we’re super inspired by having the opportunity to work with this caliber of talent!

While Film 44 and Film 45 already had websites, updates needed to be made to Film Forties to create synergy between all three websites. We gave their site a refresh by strengthening their existing content and adding more directors and we continue this partnership to date.

To co-author brand positioning that connects all Film Forties’ production entities, including Film 44, Film 45, and Film 47. Ideation of custom identity for the three entities to be crafted illustrating the agreed-upon key differentiators for each and Film Forties as a brand umbrella governing the three.

To design collateral inclusive of still and motion graphics for each entity under the Film Forties umbrella and create cohesive and dynamic websites showcases the individual entities within the Film Forties brand while tying them together. Websites are built responsively on all devices, user-friendly, and be a seamless user experience.

To offer support for the rebrand and launch success by offering consultancy to the marketing and PR team inclusive of social and digital marketing strategy, SEO/SEM, branded content creation, etc. by our team of talented agency creatives.
